Rohtak (Haryana)/Pune (Mumbai), Oct 13 (ANI): Prominent leaders came out to cast their votes for the assembly elections in Maharashtra and Haryana on Tuesday.
In Rohtak, Bhajan Lal, former Haryana Chief Minister and chief of the Haryana Janhit Congress came out and cast his vote.
Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda cast his vote and refused to comment about his rivals.
"This is democracy and everybody has the right of expression. But it is people who will elect the government," he said while heading before casting his vote.
In Mumbai, Poonam Mahajan, daughter of the slain BJP leader Pramod Mahajan and a candidate of BJP-Shivsena alliance contesting from Ghatkopar (West), cast her vote.
In Pune, NCP chief Sharad Pawar cast his vote with his family members.
For the Maharasthra Assembly, 3,559 contestants including 211 women and 1,820 Independents are in the fray.
Most of the Independent candidates are rebels from the Congress, the Nationalist Congress Party and other parties. (ANI)
