Babina (Uttar Pradesh) Oct 12 (ANI): Indian and US armies started the joint war games Yudha Abhayas 09 at Babina cantonment area in Jhansi District of Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
The 18 -day war game is being held under the aegis of India's Southern Army Command.
Over 300 personnel of the Indian Army's Mechanised Infantry attalion and Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the US Army are articipating in this exercise
The "Yudha Abhyas" would conduct training under the framework of agreed joint training programme for sharing useful experience in peacekeeping operations and humanitarian activities during disaster management.
The war games would concentrate on peacekeeping operations to include military coordination, military decision-making process (MDMP) and rules of engagement (ROE).
The exercise would also concentrate on the aspects of stability during operations to include mounting and ROE, mine and counter IED operations and patrolling.
The 18-day exercise would also concentrate on different aspects of human rights.
The soldiers of both the armies would practice military operations in civilian areas including road opening, convoy protection and humanitarian assistance.
The exercise would also concentrate on community and logistics support operations.
The soldiers of Indian and US armies would share and learn form each other's experience through combined military decision making and planning process, and employment of forces during the exercise.
The exercise would help in promoting mutual trust and understanding through the exchange of tactics, techniques and procedures associated with logistics support. (ANI)
