Kohima, Oct.10 (ANI): Nagaland has been affected by various problems like militancy, alcoholism, drug addiction and various other social evils for decades. To handle these social problems, an inter-denominational healing festival was organized in Kohima recently.
A large number of people arrived for the four-day Healing Festival at Kohima local ground. The festival with the theme "I am the Lord who heals you", taken from the Bible, was aimed at healing the people physically, spiritually, emotionally and socially.
A team of pastors in Kohima belonging to different denominations organized the festival to seek blessings for Nagaland. Special prayers were held for peace on this occasion.
"We believe that our people need to be healed. We believe that everyone need to come and attend. Everyone need to, small or big, church goer or not, faction or not, whoever it may be, we just know that everyone need a healing. Yes, we talk about militancy but I think militancy is not the only problem we have here in our land. We have so much sickness and disease affecting us. Alcoholism, drug addiction, adultery are happening in our land. We need to heal every of that sphere of the life of the people," said Pastor Keto, organiser, Kohima Healing festival.
Local residents hailed the organisation of the healing festival.
"It is so good that many people have turned up. I believe that this healing service will really touch the heart of the people and I believe through this people will be healed spiritually, physically and mentally also," said Kitoshi, local resident in Kohima.
Hundreds of people thronged to hear Rev Tom Elie, the President of Oasis World Ministries, USA. The healing festival also dwelt on the need of forgiveness and love among people, which is needed to unite the Naga society. (ANI)
