Indore, Oct 9 (ANI): A week-long 'Global Cinema Festival' began with Bollywood actors adding to the splendour of the event in Indore.
Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra, actor Sanjay Kapoor, veteran actor Randhir Kapoor and filmmaker Boney Kapoor among others marked their presence at the inauguration of the film festival on Thursday.
"Why are film festival organised? They are meant for the cinema lovers, who like watching cinemas and they can see the world films as well as Indian films under one platform," Chopra said.
The film festival is being jointly organised by the Film Federation of India (FFI) and the Madhya Pradesh Government.
About 259 movies from 57 countries will be screened from October 9-15.
Short-films and documentaries will also be screened in the festival apart from Indian and international movies.
About 50 Bollywood personalities are expected to mark their presence at the film festival.
An exhibition is also put up on the sidelines of the festival showcasing special items used by various actors in the movies.
It is the first Global Film Festival organised in Indore. (ANI)
