Nevada (US), Sept 29 (ANI): Donkeys and a dog interrupted Oscar winner Julia Roberts' shooting in Mirzapur village in Haryana for "Eat, Pray, Love", according to reports.
Immediately after director Ryan Murphy uttered "rolling camera", two donkeys reportedly began braying. Some staff people ran to push the donkeys away while people present laughed. "Donkey disturbance" caused some retakes.
When everything came back to normal, a dog began whining. Some elders, buffaloes, and cows from this village were also used in the shootouts, reports suggest. Wearing ruddraksh (seeds of the tree Eleocarpus ganitrus) mala (rosary), Roberts was seen sipping a drink at a typical rural tea-stall, while the camels walked by.
Although many villagers climbed trees and filled rooftops in the dusty village to have a look at Roberts and the shooting, but most of them had no idea who Julia Roberts was and what "Eat, Pray, Love" was about.
When Roberts went to see Swami Dharam Dev in Ashram Harimandir hermitage in nearby Pataudi, he put a marigold garland around her neck and tied traditional red-white mauli thread around her wrist.
She reportedly expressed desire to taste the Indian sweets and the Indians in her unit suggested Jhansi-pede, Kaithal-ghewar, etc.
Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has lauded Roberts' interest in the culture and spirituality of India and urged her to further explore Hindu philosophy, thought and spirituality after returning home in USA.
Aimed at a release in 2011 "Eat, Pray, Love" also stars Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Richard Jenkins (The Visitor), Viola Davis (Doubt), Billy Crudup (Almost Famous), James Franco (Pineapple Express), Luca Argentero (Lezioni di cioccolato), etc. (ANI)
