Rajkot, Sep 25 (ANI): Women artists in Rajkot performed 'Garba' in a unique way on the occasion of 'Navaratri'.
Wearing traditional attires, these women dancers performed the traditional dance, Garba blindfolded, carrying fire pots on their head maintaining balance and poise.
"We perform dance blindfolded carrying fire pots on our head. Earlier we were afraid to perform it. But our organisers encouraged and motivated us to perform it," said Varsha Makwana, Performing Artist.
Their daring dance performance was loved by many in the audience.
"I have not seen such kind of Garba being performed before. Women performing dance with fire pots on their heads. It is absolutely different kind of Garba," said Kinjal Bhayani, an audience.
The Navaratri festival is celebrated in honour of Goddess Durga, a manifestation of mother Goddess in Hindu mythology.
It is believed that during the days of Navaratri, Goddess Durga descends on earth to rid it of the demons and bless her devotees. (ANI)
