“Kashmir beats in the hearts of every Pakistani and Kashmir runs in through Pakistan’s veins,” this is what came from Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf’s mouth on the eve of an independence day address to his nation. Certainly, the event in Jammu & Kashmir has sparked war of words from both the countries as India has strongly objected Pakistan’s attempt to internationalise India’s internal matter.
Musharraf’s comment on Wednesday evening on the killings of Kashmiris by police firing over Amarnath land row as “human rights violations” was an attempt to divert public attention from his impeachment motion set in the national assembly, and yet another effort by the Pakistan administration to interfere in Indian’s internal affairs.
India on its part has found the repeated statements of different Pakistan political leaders on recent events in the Indian state of Jammu & Kashmir deeply objectionable and asked it to immediately stop the unnecessary action.
India’s reaction came just after Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s statement that his government is planning to take the issue to international community and hence urging the United Nations, human rights organisations and Organisation of Islamic Conference to “take notice” of the ongoing unrest in Jammu and Kashmir.
‘Such comments on India’s internal affairs are deeply objectionable and is no way going to facilitate the process of composite dialogue,’ said an Indian foreign office spokesperson.
Commenting on Pakistan’s own political and economic instability, and driven out from the impeachment bid against him orchestrated by the PPP-PML(N) coalition, Musharraf stressed for a reconciliation approach as imperative to bring political stability in the country.
Meanwhile, a relaxation for five hours had been announced on Thursday morning in the curfew imposed in six districts of Kashmir valley to enable people to buy essential commodities.
The curfew was relaxed in Srinagar, Gandharwal, Budgam, Kupwara, Anantnag and Kulgam districts from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m, while it was not lifted in Baramula, Bandipura, Pulwama and Shopiyan.

The present public outcry against Indian might is indicative and demonstrative of the fact that decision taken by Late Maharaja of Kashmir which was later endorsed by Shiekh Mohd Abdullah to acceed to India was and is not in consonance with the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and the recent communal overtones depicted by Hindus amply proves that two nation theory propounded by Late Jinnah of Pakistan was appropriate. India has also forfeited her so called right to retain control over Kashmir keeping in view the public outcry and hatred shown bvy the people against India, and can not label the present public movement as being sponsored by militants
