Bhopal, July 29 (ANI): Following an assurance from the Madhya Pradesh Government on the issues of hike in stipend and reduction in fees, the protesting junior doctors of the state on Wednesday withdrew their ten-day long strike.
Speaking with reporters after his meeting with state's Health Minister Anoop Mishra, the Junior Doctors Association (JDA) President Dr K K Prajapati said that the association has withdrawn its agitation following an assurance from the government to address their demands as soon as possible.
The JDA has asked all the junior doctors working in five government medical colleges of the state at Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Rewa to resume their duties from Thursday morning.
Prajapati said he has high hopes from the government as the minister has promised to fulfil their all demands at the earliest.
The major demands of the JDA include hike in their stipend, better working conditions in the hospitals as per the Medical Council of India (MCI) norms for which the government has already submitted an affidavit in the court, providing insurance cover and admissions in PG seats.
The government has also agreed to withdraw the expulsion notice served on the striking doctors and orders asking them to vacate hostels. (ANI)
