Mandhol (Shimla), July 22 (ANI): As a part of campaign against addiction to drugs, women in Mandhol village near Shimla have destroyed a huge quantity of cannabis shrubs grown in fields.
Under the banner of the Mahila Mandal (women's organisation), the campaign aims to root out all social evils to motivate local youth to kick the drugs habit.
The 'Save Young Generation' campaign saw women saying that they are seriously concerned about rural youth getting addicted to drugs and consuming of other intoxicants.
"We are cutting these cannabis plants because we do not want the next generation to consume these drugs which are addictive and a social evil," said Santosh, the chief of the Mahila Mandal in Mandhol village.
The districts of Mandi, Shimla, Kullu and Kangra in Himachal are known to grow quality cannabis for the youth and drug traffickers.arijuana or ganja is the dried leaves of the cannabis plants. (ANI)
