Mangrol (Gujarat), July 20 (ANI): Heavy rain has thrown normal life out of gear in Mangrol in Junagadh district of Gujarat.
The city has been receiving incessant rainfall during the past 36 hours.
At least 3,200 people from the city and 10 surrounding villages have been evacuated and shifted to safer places.
P.T. Rawal, town development officer, Mangrol, said people have been shifted to relief camps.
"We have formed 12 teams. They are surveying the condition. As per the survey 14 villages are affected and we have put up 357 families and 654 people in the government school there," said Rawal.
Paramilitary forces have pitched in the rescue operation.
"Our main aim is to rescue people from the affected areas and at the same time to supply the relief material to the people. There are 18 teams of CRPF ready to meet the natural disaster," said J.T. Samwal, commander, paramilitary CRPF. (ANI)
