Srinagar, August 10 (ANI): The Amarnath Yatra will continue as in the past, and the communal and regional divisions will not be allowed over the issue, said Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil after the all-party meeting held in Srinagar over the Amarnath land transfer row.

He said that the Centre's priority was to maintain peace in the state.

Chaired by Patil, the second round of the all-party meet was attended by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Arun Jaitley, Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh, former Jammu and Kashmir chief ministers Farooq Abdullah and Ghulam Nabi Azad, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Mehbooba Mufti, and Union Minister Saif-ud-din Soz.enior Congress leader Mohsina Kidwai was also present, besides local Kashmiri leaders.

The first round of meeting was held yesterday in Jammu, which remained inconclusive

The Communist Party of India-Marxist leader Sitaram Yechury said that the all-party meeting will submit a report to resolve the issue amicably. "Our primary concern is the unity and integrity of India. It is non-negotiable," told Yechury.

"The Amarnath row is a serious issue which needed the collective effort of all parties," said Yechury and added that there was a lot of provocation going on by vested interests who wanted to use the situation for their political ends.

Meanwhile, the situation is peaceful in Jammu town after talks between the Amarnath Sangarsh Samiti and the all party delegation led by the Home Minister on Saturday.

For the first time since agitation started in Jammu, the curfew was relaxed in the temple city for seven hours. However, police and paramilitary forces continue to keep a close watch on the situation as a precautionary measure.

Curfew was also relaxed in some other towns of Jammu region in a phased manner.

However, curfew remains in force in Samba, Kathua and Rajouri towns of the region. (ANI)
